Job Description


Snow is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one or more development teams in our quest to help our customers solve their challenges within technology intelligence. As an Engineering Manager at Snow, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong team software engineers and QA developers.

You will be enabling the team in their daily work by ensuring that the team has a clear view of where to go, and you will have a key role in enabling individuals in their personal growth. You will be working closely with your team but also with other Engineering Managers on creating an environment based on trust and respect with constant learning and you will also work on identifying and acting on improvements incorporated in the way of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the team delivers product functionality that solves real problems, and is high quality, secure, and delivered on time
  • Ensures team is engaged with supporting/operating the product after release, with a "you build it, you run it" mindset
  • Partner with PM to ensure that team is focused on highest value items, and that the team understands how these contribute to the overall business goals, help build roadmap and be accountable for developing execution plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement and adoption of industry best practices and Snow ways of working
  • Enable a culture in line with the Snow Spirits and other Snow values, with a focus on collaboration and openness.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to individuals within the team, identify team needs when it comes to recruitment and development

Qualifications
  • Previous experience leading cross functional agile teams
  • Experience working with SaaS is ideal.
  • Understanding of best practices in software development, testing, and operations.
  • Understanding of modern software architecture and engineering tooling.
  • Good understanding of agile principles and practices.
  • Coaching and mentoring individuals.
  • Able to effectively identify and raise risks, collaborate to find solution.
  • Planning and delivery management of complex implementation efforts.
  • Strong ability to lead by influence, leading people to new viewpoints by starting with “why”.
  • Develop trust and credibility through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, able to facilitate a mindset of cooperation that leads to a resolution.
  • Excellence communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to "think like a customer": understand the business value of our products and use this to help shape roadmap.
