This position is based in Uppsala, where Thermo Fisher develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases. With 1,900 employees worldwide working with these products, and 1,000 in Sweden, we are the global leader in in-vitro allergy testing and the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics.


The job

In the recently established function Production Excellence, there is now an exciting and newly created role as Labelling Development Engineer available. The role will focus on working with long term strategies, creation of road maps and implementation of new ways of working. The initial focus will be on product configurations and labelling, but with time the Production Excellence group, and this role, will work with other operational- and supply chain topics to drive efficiency, standardization and operational excellence. Your initial main tasks will be to create process maps for our labelling processes in order to identify pain points and possible improvements. Then the tasks will be to create best in class processes and finally implement them in our daily work.

The Production Excellence function works overarching with all departments within production and with a clear goal and mission to standardize and drive improvements for us all. Within operations, we are about 220 team members here in Uppsala. You will be part of a highly motivated team delivering value via constant improvements and standardization, working closely together with all areas within operations and many other functions within the company. This is truly an exciting position in the hearth of operations.


How will you make an impact

  • Become the Subject Matter Expert in how to best and most efficient manage the global labelling requirements within Operations

  • Work actively within our division to drive clarity and set a vision, and ultimately, build one common shared roadmap for the product setup, including labelling

  • Be the SME and representative from Operations in projects or activities that are related to labelling

  • Develop, document and implement processes to improve performance and to drive standardization

  • Govern implemented Standard Procedures within Operations

  • Drive implementation of new/improved Procedures and processes within Operations

  • Drive Operation Excellence initiatives and participate in Kaizens and other activities for continuous improvements

  • Work closely with Supply Chain to find the most efficient way of managing our products within operations and to create a seamless workflow

  • Work closely with R&D and the Product Information team to ensure alignment and collaboration in order to secure the roadmap

What will you need

  • Bachelor’s and/or Masters’ (preferred) degree in operations, production, supply chain or related discipline (e.g. Industrial Engineering or Management).

  • Preferably 3-5 years’ experience within Operations or Supply chain

  • Clear communicator with the possibility to influence others both verbally and written in Swedish and English

  • Strong prioritization and decision-making skills managing complex business environment with clarity in communication for team, stakeholders and managers

  • Demonstrate abilities as a quick learner and with an ability to leverage strong analytical skills to articulate future strategies and road maps for execution

  • Experience working with process improvement ideologies e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma, PPI or similar) as well as experience from Material Flow/Material Production/Production Planning of highly regulated products (ideally from the Medtech industry) in ERP environment (e.g. SAP).

  • Knowledge of warehousing and global shipping of hazardous goods, cold chain product, and highly regulated products (ideally from the Medical Device/Tech industry)
